The ancient Mathoor Bhagavathi temple, the centre of activities and the binding force of the family  is located in the Alappuzha district, 7 km towards Changanassery from the National Highway - 47. The temple is 1 km south off the Alappuzha Changanassery road, located between the river Pampa in the east and river Pookaitha in the west, amidst  the lush greenery of paddy fields.
